Our general approach in living here on the beautiful West coast of Harris for the last 25 years has been to keep our local culture alive ,whether it be breeding Eriskay ponies ,Highland cattle ,Blackface sheep or weaving Harris Tweed by hand on a single width Hattersley loom mark 1 just as it was here 70 years ago This is the legacy we inherited through Margarets family connections here and indeed the whole village of Scarista where most houses still have native Gaelic speakers today
